October 2021 Pangkalpinang City inflation is 0.03 percent. Pangkalpinang's inflation is the lowest of the 24 CPI cities on the island of Sumatra.

Abstract

In October 2021, Pangkalpinang City experienced inflation of 0.03 percent with a CPI of 105.01. Of the 90 CPI cities, 68 cities experienced inflation and 22 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Sampit at 2.06 percent with a CPI of 109.30 and the lowest occurred in Sumenep and Banyuwangi at 0.02 percent with a CPI of 106.21 and 104.64, respectively. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Kendari at 0.70 percent with a CPI of 107.98 and the lowest occurred in Bengkulu, at 0.02 percent with a CPI of 105.89.
Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index in 6 expenditure groups, namely: housing, water, electricity, and household fuel by 0.41 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.13 percent; transportation group by 0.37 percent; information, communication, and financial services group by 0.02 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.03 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.04 percent. Three groups of expenditures were monitored for deflation, namely the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.26 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.27 percent; and the health group by 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the recreation, sports, and cultural groups as well as the education group were observed to be stable.
The inflation rate for the calendar year (January–October) 2021 is 1.52 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (October 2021 to October 2020) is 2.76 percent.
The energy group in October 2021 experienced inflation of 0.60 percent with a CPI of 101.70. Meanwhile, the food ingredients component experienced deflation of 0.37 percent with a CPI of 107.88.
