In April 2022, Tanjungpandan City experienced inflation of 2.58 percent with a CPI of 113.46 and was the highest of 90 CPI cities which were all monitored for inflation. Inflation rate above 2 percent also occurred in Jayapura which touched the level of 2.38 percent. The lowest inflation occurred in Gunungsitoli at 0.22 percent with a CPI of 110.58. Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in some indexes of the expenditure group, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 4.94 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.71 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.30 percent; health group by 0.03 percent; transportation group by 2.60 percent; recreation, sports, and culture groups by 0.08 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 2.73 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 1.35 percent. The expenditure group that experienced deflation was the clothing and footwear group by 0.03 percent and the information, communication and financial services group by 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the education group did not change. The inflation rate for the calendar year April 2022 is 2.29 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (April 2022 to April 2021) is 5.22 percent. The energy group in April 2022 experienced inflation of 0.81 with a CPI of 104.67. Meanwhile, the food ingredients component in April 2022 experienced inflation of 5.91 percent with a CPI of 119.37.
