Economy of Bangka Belitung Islands Province in Quarter III-2023 Grows 4.01 Percent (Y-on-Y)

Abstract

The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands in the third quarter of 2023 as measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices (ADHB) reached IDR 26,130 billion and GRDP at constant prices (ADHK) in 2010 reached IDR 15,203 billion.
The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands in the third quarter of 2023 compared to the third quarter of 2022 (y-on-y) experienced growth of 4.01 percent. In terms of production, almost all business fields grew positively, except for the Mining and Quarrying business fields as well as Government Administration, Defense and Mandatory Social Security. The business field that experienced the highest growth was the Other Services business field. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the highest growth occurred in the PMTB component.
The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands in the third quarter of 2023 compared to the previous quarter (q-to-q) grew by 0.04 percent. From the production side, the highest growth occurred in the Electricity and Gas Procurement business field, while from the expenditure side the highest growth occurred in the PMTB component.
The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands up to quarter III-2023 (c-to-c) experienced growth of 4.51 percent, an increase compared to the achievement in quarter III-2022 which cumulatively grew by 4.38 percent. In terms of production, almost all business fields grew positively, with the highest growth achieved by the Financial Services and Insurance business fields. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the highest growth was experienced by the Government Consumption Expenditure component.
The total GRDP of ADHB Sumatra Island in the third quarter of 2023 reached IDR 1,145 trillion or around 22.16 percent of the total GRDP of 34 Provinces in Indonesia, while the GRDP of ADHK Sumatra Island in the third quarter of 2023 reached IDR 661 trillion. Sumatra Island's economic growth was 1.89 percent (q-to-q), 4.50 percent (y-on-y), and 4.72 percent (c-to-c). Meanwhile, the GRDP of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province only contributed 2.28 percent to the GRDP of Sumatra Island and 0.51 percent to the total GRDP of 34 provinces in Indonesia.
