Abstract

  • In September 2023, the combined 2 cities in Bangka Belitung experienced year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation of 3.55 percent with a CPI of 117.82. The monthly inflation rate or month to month (m-to-m) is 0.90 percent and the calendar year inflation rate or year to date (y-to-d) is 3.05 percent.
  • Y-on-y inflation in Pangkalpinang City was 2.70 percent and m-to-m inflation was 0.61 percent, with a CPI of 115.72. Y-on-y inflation in Tanjungpandan City was 5.03 percent and m-to-m inflation was 1.41 percent, with a CPI of 121.63.
  • Combined y-on-y inflation in 2 cities in Bangka Belitung this month occurred due to an increase in the index in almost all expenditure groups, namely; food, beverage and tobacco group at 6.22 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.01 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.47 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.48 percent; health group 10.49 percent; transportation group at 5.14 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 1.69 percent; education group at 2.21 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 1.16 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 2.26 percent. Meanwhile, the only group that experienced a decline in the index was the information, communication and financial services group by 0.27 percent.
  • The contribution to inflation y-on-y of the Combined 2 Cities in Bangka Belitung was mainly contributed by rice commodities, air transport, filtered kretek cigarettes, round fish and white cigarettes. Meanwhile, the share of m-to-m deflation was mainly caused by red chilies, shallots, trevally, cayenne pepper and beef.
