Abstract

  • In March 2024, the level of inequality in expenditure of the population of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province as measured by the Gini Ratio will be 0.244. This figure is down 0.001 points compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2023 which was 0.245 and also down 0.011 points compared to the Gini Ratio in September 2022 which was 0.255.
  • The Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2024 was recorded at 0.263, a decrease of 0.002 points compared to the urban Gini Ratio in March 2023 which was 0.265 and shows the same figure compared to the Gini Ratio in September 2022.
  • The Gini Ratio in rural areas in March 2024 was recorded at 0.196, a decrease of 0.006 points compared to the rural Gini Ratio in March 2023 which was 0.202 and also decreased by 0.026 points compared to the Gini Ratio in September 2022 which was 0.222.
  • Based on the World Bank's measure of inequality, the distribution of expenditure among the bottom 40 percent for the March 2024 period is 25.83 percent. This means that population expenditure in March 2024 will be in the low inequality level category. If broken down according to regional classification, the distribution of expenditure in the bottom 40 percent group in urban areas for the March 2024 period was recorded at 25.03 percent, which means it is classified as low inequality. Meanwhile, for rural areas, the figure was recorded at 27.90 percent, which means it is also classified as low inequality.
