Training of Population Survey Officers Between Census 2025

The 2025 Population Survey Between Census (Supas) is a survey conducted every 10 years between two population censuses. This survey is conducted every ten years in years ending in 5. This training was attended by 7 BPS employees as field inspectors and 21 BPS statistical partners. The training was preceded by 3 days of independent learning (May 31–June 2), followed by 2 days of online distance learning (June 3–4, 2025), and 1 day of offline face-to-face learning (June 5, 2025).

Supas is implemented with the aim of obtaining estimates of demographic indicators up to the district/city level; obtaining estimates of the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) indicator at the national and regional levels; and providing an overview of the dynamics, characteristics of the population, and population structure. In the implementation of Supas, the enumeration of areas is the Local Environmental Unit (SLS), which is different from the usual BPS survey which is based on census blocks. Therefore, this is a new challenge for the implementation of Supas later.
