Abstract

• In November 2020, Tanjungpandan City experienced deflation of 0.03 percent with a CPI of 105.07. Of the 90 CPI cities, 83 cities experienced inflation and 7 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tual at 1.15 percent with a CPI of 106.83 and the lowest was in Bima at 0.01 percent with a CPI of 104.48. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Kendari at 0.22 percent with the CPI at 104.81 and the lowest occurred in Meulaboh and Palopo at 0.01 percent.

• Deflation occurred due to a decrease in prices as indicated by a fall in the index of some expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.02 percent; the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group of 0.05 percent; and the transportation group by 0.17 percent. Some of the other expenditure groups experienced inflation, namely: the equipment, equipment and routine household maintenance group by 0.10 percent and the personal care and other services group by 0.02 percent. Clothing and footwear groups; health group; recreational, sports, and cultural groups; food and beverage / restaurant supply group; and the information, communication and financial services group did not experience any changes.

• The inflation rate for the calendar year November 2020 is 0.60 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (November 2020 to November 2019) is 1.90 percent.

• The energy group in November 2020 experienced neither deflation nor inflation with the CPI of 100.14. Meanwhile, the foodstuff component in November 2020 experienced deflation of 0.12 percent with a CPI of 104.09.
