Abstract

  • Human development in the Bangka Belitung Islands has progressed on average as indicated by the increase in the Human Development Index (HDI) of the Bangka Belitung Islands. In 2020, the HDI of the Bangka Belitung Islands will reach 71.47. This figure increased by 0.17 points or grew 0.24 percent. Compared to 2019 which was able to grow by 0.89 percent, human development achievements in 2020 experienced a significant slowdown.
  • Babies born in 2020 have the expectation to live to the age of 70 years 7 months, 1 month 20 days longer than the previous year.
  • Children aged 7 years have the hope of enjoying 12.05 years of education, or the equivalent of graduating high school or entering college.
  • On average, the population aged 25 years and over has studied for 8.06 years, or the equivalent of having completed grade VIII in Junior High School.
  • The inhabitants of the Bangka Belitung Islands make ends meet with an average adjusted per capita expenditure of Rp. 12,794,000, - per year, decreased by Rp. 165,000 compared to the previous year.
