Abstract

In July 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) deflation in Tanjung Pandan was 0.22 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104.77.

The y-on-y deflation occurred due to a decrease in prices indicated by a decrease in the index in several expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage, and tobacco group by 1.25 percent; the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.35 percent; the household equipment, tools, and routine maintenance group by 0.12 percent; the health group by 1.52 percent; the transportation group by 0.09 percent; and the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.07 percent. On the other hand, the groups that experienced y-on-y inflation or an increase in the index were: the clothing and footwear group by 0.50 percent; the recreation, sports, and culture group by 0.79 percent; the education group by 7.03 percent; the food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 0.67 percent; and personal care and other services by 0.56 percent.

The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate was 0.01 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate was 0.07 percent.
